I did a cool little wave stitch for the binding with my Babylock Evolution surger. It is pretty sweet!

Bella Dark Solid Lap Quilt [Quilting]
I forgot about this quilt I did a few months ago. I had a Bella Dark Solid Layer Cake and made this neat little lap quilt for a very close friend of mine who lives in Houston.

1001 Peeps and Wonkie Applique Quilt [Quilting]
My wife reminded me of that I have not posted about one of the quilts I did and after looking at my Flickr sets I see that I forgot to post the finished product of the wonkie quilt I was working on.
The first is the 1001 Peeps Magic Carpet quilt I did. I gave it to a tattoo artist friend. Steve Byrne works at Rock of Ages Tattoo studio in Austin. He just had a new baby girl and I wanted to give his son something, thinking that he might be feeling a little jealous of the new arrival.
As I said in an early post, I started a wonkie quilt and I decided to serge the top together. But instead of just a regular overlock stitch I decided to do a really cool Wave stitch that is available on the Baby Lock Evolution serger. fianse
When I got the backing fabric I also decided to applique some of the butterflies on the top. I gave this one to another tattoo artist that works at Rock of Ages, Jay Chastain. He and his fiance just had a little girl and I wanted to give it to them for the little one.

Max and Whiskers Doggie Quilt - Finish [Quilting]
My sewing on this was not the greatest but Vera likes it so that is the important thing...

The stitching isn't great but it's pretty good for a rookie...

New Quilt: Max and Whiskers Doggie Quilt - Part 1 [Quilting]
While I am waiting for my backing fabric that I ordered for my Simplicity quilt to get here, I decided to start making a little doggie quilt for our 17 year old pup Vera.
To make the top, I am just piecing together a Max and Whiskers charm pack(which are super hard to find.
My lovely wife suggested I use another charm pack on the back. That is in progress.
Here is a picture of our old girl....

New Quilt: Simplicity Part 1 [Quilting]
I started a new quilt out the book More Layer Cake, Jelly Roll and Charm Quilt.
I took one layer cake and cut each layer into 3" x 10" strips. Then I cut a 45 degree triangle out of one end.

Once I had all my strips cut and triangles cut out I then sewed a light and a dark color together to make a longer strip.
Then, I sew the strips together to make this cool little "S" pattern.
I then sewed 15 strips in a row. Here are the first two rows
Hopefully I can get another row done tomorrow before I have to go back to work....
